Since its opening in September
of 1995, the Technology and Research Center has become the
hub of academic activities. Here students gather to research
topics through a variety of media. The Center houses our library
facility, and not only offers the traditional stacks and reference
material but is enhanced via electronic formats such as CD-ROMS,
T-1 Internet access, on-line encyclopedias, access to full
document searches of any printed material, photo archival
retrieval, OPAC on-line electronic searches of our own collection,
all within a fully networked environment.
Within the Center, special sections
are designated as resource areas for every academic discipline,
with two larger sections for math / science and one for humanities.
Teachers from various departments are available during any
period to assist students.
In our Multi-purpose DeMatteis Hall
there is a projection monitor that will project DVDs,
Video Cassettes, Networked Computer Applications, Internet
Web Pages, and Educational Cable Programs onto a large 12
foot screen. Group presentations for classes as well as faculty
staff development are held here.
Our networked IBM computers and an assortment
of peripherals (digital camera, networked laser printers,
scanners, color laser printer) are constantly being updated with the latest technology. Wireless cababilities throughout
the building further offer Internet access into every classroom.
Software for every discipline has
been carefully selected and integration of technology into
our curriculum has been very successful through efforts of
our full time Technology Center staff.
Any school or individual wishing
