All students who are accepted into the Academy will become part of a unique and challenging academic experience. The Academy experience seeks to enhance each student’s ability to reach his or her potential, while fostering an ambition and passion for lifelong learning. The skills taught to our students over their four years at Xaverian will not only prepare them for a challenging college and university experience, but will also prepare them for real life experiences.
The Academy at Xaverian is designed for students on the path to obtain a Regents Diploma or an Advanced Regents Diploma. While many courses are required core courses, there are opportunities for students to select course work from the variety of electives available. Students in the Academy Program are encouraged to challenge themselves by taking higher level classes (AP, St. John’s, and/or Syracuse) based on their personal interests and areas of strength. Additionally, the Academy offers the Equity Program, a comprehensive support program that meets the educational needs for college bound students with learning disabilities.
The hallmark of a Xaverian Academy student is to be a well-rounded young person, who is passionate not only about his or her academics but about their community and family as well.
The administration and faculty expect the following from each of our Academy students:
- A commitment to the pursuit of academic excellence
- A commitment to respect the dignity and worth of every person
- A commitment to discover God’s call to service
