A three-sport (Volleyball, Basketball, Softball) Varsity Captain and GCHSAA athlete at St. Saviour High School Brooklyn, Marie was a member of the State Championship Varsity Basketball Team (1988) and City Championship and State Finalist Volleyball Team (1989). A three-sport (Volleyball - Captain, Basketball, Softball) Division I full scholarship athlete at St. Francis College, Brooklyn, Marie was on the Northeast Conference Dean's List from 1991-1994.  She entered the Hall of Fame at St. Francis College in January of 2012 for both Volleyball and Softball. 

McGoldrick-Raico has been teaching and coaching for 25 years. While her early days of coaching were spent as a Varsity Basketball and Varsity Volleyball Coach for St. Edmund Prep in the GCHSAA, her love for all things volleyball led her to become a full-time volleyball coach. After the birth of her son, Coach Raico left her full-time teaching position and began her own training program. Through this program, she has renewed her love for teaching her sport to young athletes from grades 3-12 in both indoor and sand training situations. In August, she will begin her 6th year at Xaverian as head Varsity and Junior Varsity Coach.  In its four years of existence, the team has been to the Diocesan Junior Varsity Finals three times, winning both the Diocesan and City Championship in "back to back" fashion. In just two years of the Varsity Program, the Clippers have made it to the Diocesan Semi-Final Game and were Diocesan Finalists the following year. When not preparing the Clippers for their season, Coach McGoldrick-Raico nurtures her coaching skills at Brooklyn Elite Volleyball where she is responsible for the 14 Empire (National team), 16 Skyline, and 17/18 Skyline teams.  Her 17 Skyline team was silver medalist winners, taking second overall in the Mizuno sponsored Connecticut Winterfest regional tournament and competed in the Gold medal round of the Capitol Hill tournament, ranking them in the top 5 finishers in the Northeast Region. 

Marie stated, "I am extraordinarily proud to be a member of the Xaverian High School community, one that sets a high standard of excellence for student-athletes in the classroom and on the court. While I celebrate the success that the girls have achieved on the court in the early days of the program, it is the relationships that the players have built with one another and their selfless willingness to carry this winning attitude to everything they involve themselves in off the court, particularly their academic experience, that fills me with tremendous pride.  I can honestly say that after coaching for nearly 25 years, I feel as privileged, fulfilled, and energized as I ever have been to come to work every day and be able to do what I love because of the character of the student-athletes that I am blessed to be surrounded by at Xaverian every day!"
