Athletic Department Mission Statement
The administration and staff of the Xaverian Athletic program have dedicated themselves to the development and guidance of the total student-athlete. The physical, educational and spiritual growth of each student is the overwhelming priority of our coaches and mentors as they seek to follow the mission of the department.
Our professional staff is aware of the individual needs of youth, as well as the social implications of being able to work as a member of a team. Students are given the opportunity, through extensive training, excellent equipment, and superior coaching to reach their maximum potential.
Our goal is to inspire in our students the capacity for excellence in a highly competitive society while stressing that their success is defined , not always by results, but in their dedication to their teammates in working toward a common goal. It is in this way that we also hope to instill a deep sense of pride and accomplishment within our students that have been a part of Xaverian Athletics.

Statement Regarding the Xaverian Wrestling Program
Following much consideration regarding the future viability of Xaverian's Wrestling program, the school's administration has announced that the program will no longer be offered beginning in the 2016-2017 academic year.
Xaverian fully recognizes the frustrations of those in our community who played a role in the history of Xaverian wrestling and acknowledges the disappointment surrounding the cessation of the last high school wrestling program in Brooklyn-Queens CHSAA.
