Advancement & Investment Committees
Cara Macksoud, a proud alumna of Xaverian’s Genesis middle school program’s class of 1992, began her career on the NYSE at the age of 17. She continued to work full time while simultaneously attending NYU Stern School of Business, where she majored in Finance. Upon graduation she entered the trading rotation program at Spear, Leeds and Kellogg. She was hired out of the program early to join the firm’s Exchange Traded Funds trading unit on the American Stock Exchange. She quickly excelled and became an integral part of the unit’s top revenue producing team.

She later left the firm to join Bear Hunter to help build the firm’s ETF unit. While at Bear Hunter she was an essential part of the NYSE launch of trading ETFs. She became the youngest woman to be given a seat to trade on the NYSE at that time. After several years trading on the NYSE, Cara left to become a small business owner and start a family. After her second child was born she returned to finance.

Cara was hired at Prebon Tullet to help bring ETFs to their brokerage unit. She helped the desk create a new business line during the 2008 financial crisis. Cara's family continued to grow and after her fourth child she left Wall Street again.
During her career in finance she made several connections to charities that became close to her heart. She started a scholarship at her high school alma mater, Bishop Ford. She provided students an opportunity to attend the school that did not have the financial resources to do so. She also became very involved in The Catalog for Giving which helps foster young and growing child programs in New York City.

In addition to Xaverian’s Board of Trustees, Cara also sits on the board of The Catalog for Giving and is the proud mother of five children.
