Kevin B. Thompson ‘70, FCAS, MAAA

Kevin B Thompson was a casualty actuary with Insurance Services Office (now Verisk Analytics) for over 40 years, retiring in 2014. During his career he held numerous positions of responsibility at ISO, culminating in becoming President of ISO Insurance Programs and Analytic Services. He is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA). He has served on various professional committees and task forces and in leadership positions of the CAS and AAA, including Vice President – Admissions, member of the Executive Council, and member of the Board of Directors of the CAS.

Kevin is a trustee of The Actuarial Foundation (TAF), the philanthropic arm of the actuarial profession in the United States. He has been an adult leader in a local boy scout troop for over 25 years.

A native of Brooklyn, Kevin attended Xaverian High School (’66-’67 and ’69-’70) as well as Ryken High School (’67-’69) in Leonardtown, MD, and is a member of the Xaverian class of 1970. He attended New York University, where he received a degree in Mathematics and Secondary Education. He did graduate work in Mathematics at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ.

Kevin and his wife Kathleen reside in Staten Island and Montauk. Besides spending leisure time with their son Eric, daughter-in-law Lea, and 3 grandchildren, he enjoys surf fishing and sports car racing, which he participates in with his son.
