Varsity Boys Basketball - December 16th

James Schmidt '23
The Varsity Boys Basketball team lost 63-58 to St. Francis Prep Friday night.

Both teams wasted no time to start scoring, as each put up 20 points in the first quarter alone. The game continued at this fast pace up until the 4th quarter, where fouls on almost every possession slowed it down. Making free throws consistently was very important in this matchup, and St Francis Prep excelled at that during the game. Nasir Muhammad was unstoppable when driving to the basket throughout the course of the game, tallying 30 points. Michael Walker and Don-Colon Lewis also played well on the boards, securing 9 rebounds each. Xaverian obviously didn’t get the result they wanted, but their offense looked very strong and close games like these can definitely end in their favor if they can stay out of foul trouble in the future.

The Varsity Clippers will take on Iona Prep at 4:30 PM Tuesday in the Xaverian Gym.
