Varsity Boys Tennis - April 18th

James Schmidt '23
The Varsity Tennis Team beat Salesian 4-1 Tuesday evening.

The Varsity Clippers opened the 2023 season with a long road trip to the Pinebrook Tennis Center in New Rochelle for a rematch against the Salesian team that they faced in last season’s championship. James Schmidt carried over his undefeated streak from last season into this one, winning 6-2, 6-0 in second singles to give Xaverian an early lead. The first doubles team of John Paskowski and George Robokos won 6-2, 6-1, while the second doubles team of Giovanni DeSantis and Bartosz Foremny won 6-0, 6-2. Rob Krute secured the final match win for Xaverian with a 6-2, 6-2 victory in third singles.

Despite the extremely windy conditions in Westchester throughout the evening, the Clippers were able to pull through and start their season in the win column. Xaverian will look to continue their strong start to the year when they play Monsignor McClancy at home next Wednesday, April 26th.
