Coach Margaret McKeon brings 25 years of stellar collegiate Division I basketball coaching experience. As Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Boston University, she was responsible for elevating the team from the bottom of the America East Conference to the top tier.  Following her success at BU, Coach McKeon moved on to serve as Women’s Basketball Head Coach at New Jersey Institute of Technology where she more than doubled wins and improved overall team performance in Division 1 competition.
Margaret McKeon's basketball career started at Christ the King where she distinguished herself as one of the best players ever to compete in the Brooklyn-Queens league. She was inducted into the NY Girls Catholic High School Association Hall of Fame and was the first player to hold the prestigious title of New York State Miss Basketball.
Her star continued to shine on the college courts. First at Oklahoma where she earned all-conference honorable mention and then at St. John's where she was all-Big East, setting a conference single-game assists record that still stands.
After graduation from St. John's with a degree in athletic administration, she directed her passion for the game into a coaching career. Meeting the challenges of developing a winning program from the ground up, an instinctive eye for talent and the ability to motivate student–athletes to pursue excellence became the tools of her trade. Her philosophy that basketball teaches life lessons became her inspiration.
Currently, Coach McKeon is developing a Girls' Basketball Program at Xaverian in Brooklyn where she serves as Head Coach of the Girls' Basketball teams and AD. She is also dedicated to teaching basketball skills in her highly successful camps and clinics for school-age boys and girls.
Established in 1957, Xaverian is one of thirteen schools nationwide sponsored by the Xaverian Brothers.
