Our season came to its conclusion in a narrow semi-final playoff one-nil reverse to the eventual Tier 1 finalists. Having outfought and outthought the opposition, our performance came as no surprise: we finished our regular season strongly after a string of unfortunate defeats, culminating in an impressive record of three wins, three losses, and four draws.

Sophomore Alana Lizzi led the front line and scoring charts with six goals. There were also very admirable performances from sophomore Victoria Gauto in the heart of defense and freshman Casey McGinn between the posts, both of whom led the securing of the joint-most clean-sheets in the league, with four. The team also boasts the commendable record of not losing a game when scoring first. It did indeed take an entire team effort to achieve our objectives on and off the field with uplifting collaboration between the seasoned sophomores and the debuting freshmen — from gym sessions, tactical meetings, and recovery runs to rain-soaked practices, strong performances on the pitch and post-game cookies, everyone contributed with ambition and enthusiasm, giving all that they could and representing Xaverian with excellence.

The girls should hold their heads high and know the Clipper community is proud of their efforts. Looking forward to next season!
