2024 Season Outlook

As the inaugural season of Girls Flag Football kicks off at Xaverian, there is a wave of excitement amongst the student-athletes and coaches. Coach Victoria Burgarella, Coach Graig Arne, and Coach Anthony Bianchi have been working hard to plan and prepare the girls for a great season. We are all looking forward to growing the game of flag football and building a lasting legacy at Xaverian.

This year we will establish a foundation for the new sport. The coaches are coming in with years of coaching success at all levels and are looking forward to bringing that success to Xaverian.

The inaugural season brings excitement with a team of rookies eager to prove themselves and seasoned veterans in flag football leading by example. Each member of the team brings something special to the field.

As we embark on this new journey, we aim to build a strong foundation, hone our skills, and forge lasting memories both on and off the field. With teamwork, determination, and a passion for the game, we're ready to make our mark and make history this upcoming season.

Read Bio
Victoria Burgarella (aka Coach Vic) started teaching physical education at Xaverian in 2023, the same year she began as head coach of the girls' JV and Varsity Flag Football Team. She is also the assistant coach of the JV Cheerleading.

Burgarella is proud to be introducing girl's flag football to Xaverian. She has been involved with flag football since her freshman year of high school, playing on Tottenville High School's Varsity team all four years. Since then, she has fallen in love with the sport and began coaching youth teams in 2018 for her local rec league, Next Level Sports. Over the past few years, she has won multiple Super Bowls with her teams, but it didn’t stop there. In 2020, she was asked to coach for THT, a travel flag football organization. Burgarella and her team have traveled all over the country to play top-level competition. Her team has won three straight NFL flag national championship titles, and she is looking to capture their 4th title this year. Additionally, she has many other national championship wins. She is excited to bring flag football to Xaverian and is looking to have a successful inaugural season this spring.
