Father Michael Bruno has been in Formation for the priesthood since September of 2003. While at Stonehill College he completed his pre-theology and philosophy requirements while completing his degree in History in three years. He then continued his studies in the Vatican City to receive his Doctorate in Sacred Theology. Ordained in June of 2010, Father Bruno served at St. Dominic’s Church in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn and served under the leadership and guidance of former trustee and former Xaverian faculty member Father David Dettmer at St. Luke’s Parish. In 2014, Father Bruno published Political Augustinianism: Modern Interpretations of Augustine's Political Thought. Father Bruno has been appointed by Timothy Michael Cardinal Dolan, Archbishop of New York, to the faculty of St. Joseph’s Seminary in Yonkers, NY.  He serves as a full-time member of the faculty in the areas of dogmatic theology and Church History, and will also assume the role of faculty formation advisor.  Father Bruno’s assignment at St. Joseph’s Seminary was effective on July 1, 2015.  Son of long-time staff member Mrs. Rosalie Bruno, Michael is a proud member of the Class of 2003.
