On November 15th, Xaverian Dramatics kicked off their killer fall play, Clue. They performed six shows spanning from November 15th to the 19th. From cast to stage crew to pit orchestra, excitement filled the auditorium as the lights dimmed and the curtain opened. 

Since the beginning of the school year, the cast of Clue has been preparing for the show. From playing the classic board game at the very first rehearsal to putting it all together right before opening night, they didn’t stop working. They embodied your favorite characters like Professor Plum and Mrs. Peacock to find out who killed Mr. Boddy. 

Kassidy Corey ‘24, who played Miss Scarlet, said, “As a senior, it makes me extremely sad to know that this is going to be my last high school play with Xaverian Dramatics. I’m genuinely going to miss this and all my friends here at Dramatics, although I’m looking forward to Mean Girls in the Spring!” 

Kassidy also went on to explain that Clue is a big step forward for Dramatics as they are still fairly new to being back in full swing since the COVID-19 pandemic. 

She explained, “Being here since 2020, half of my high school productions were on Zoom. I remember [Xaverian Dramatics] did The Wedding Singer online; they did a podcast of A Christmas Carol. My tenure at Dramatics was the transition from the COVID-19 pandemic back to the normal style of Dramatics shows Santel and Randazzo put on; and I couldn’t be happier to have witnessed it all being a part of Xaverian Dramatics.”

As for the set, Stage Crew had been working since early October to construct the house that the show would take place in. The set consisted of turning walls as well as other various elements of a house, such as a main entranceway, a trap-door refrigerator, and even a hidden safe. It contained all the classic rooms of the game, such as the Study, the Conservatory, and the Billiard Room. 

The tech crew also worked tirelessly to make sure everything was on track with the lights and sound system. As the Lighting Technician, Michael Farrell ‘24, coded the stage lights in accordance with each character’s primary color. 

Sound Technician Casey Schriver ‘25 stated, “Clue was such a visually exciting play to do. The actors did an incredible job of bringing the iconic movie to the stage while also bringing their own twist to it. Being in the tech booth gives me such an amazing perspective, and watching them perform is my favorite part.”
