Kim Mustin is a Senior Regional Managing Director at Bernstein Private Wealth Management and serves as the National Director of the firm’s Private Business Owner Advisory Group. In these roles, she leads the New York market and helps shape Bernstein’s national strategy for advising private business owners—guiding entrepreneurs through growth, complexity, and liquidity events while helping them plan thoughtfully for what comes next.
With more than 30 years of experience, Kim focuses on delivering tailored solutions for sophisticated
clients, with expertise in working with business owners and female investors. She advises on integrated
financial strategies designed to align clients’ wealth with their long-term goals, values, and legacy
priorities. Her approach emphasizes clarity, discipline, and practical decision-making in complex
situations.
Prior to joining Bernstein in 2017, Kim held a series of senior leadership roles across the asset
management industry, building and leading teams that delivered investment solutions to some of the
world’s most sophisticated asset holders. She served as Global Head of Distribution at BNY Mellon and
Global Head of Strategic Accounts at OppenheimerFunds, and earlier as Co-Head of U.S. Distribution at
Legg Mason and Head of the Financial Institutions Group at Deutsche Bank. She began her Wall Street
career at Putnam Investments and started her professional career at the U.S. Treasury Department as a
Special Agent, where she developed her foundation in financial markets and retirement solutions.
Kim is actively engaged in philanthropic and community efforts focused on expanding access to
education and opportunity. She serves on the boards of the Keewaydin Foundation and Grace Outreach
and supports several organizations dedicated to serving military veterans and their families.
She holds a BA with a double major in accounting and finance from the University of West Florida. Kim
lives in New York City with her husband and their three children.
