  • I need to report a COVID test result, quarantine order, or another COVID-19 related matter. Who do I contact?

Please email healthreport@xaverian.org to report any COVID-related matter.
  • I need help with MyMedBot. Who do I contact?

Please contact Patrick Snyder '10, Network Administrator, at psnyder@xaverian.org.
  • How do I sign up for MyMedBot? Do I need to use it to get into the school building?

All incoming 6th and 9th graders, along with transfer students, will receive a registration email from MyMedBot on Monday, September 6th, with an invitation code and a link to download the app on your devices.

    • All students will need to complete and show their MyMedBot Self-Screening Form upon arriving at school. While parents are encouraged to sign up, as they can administer the self-screening form at home with their children, it is critical that each student signs up for MyMedBot so to avoid congestion at our entry points. Each student will need to show their completed survey (the passing survey will display a green screen) on their device showing their clearance for entry.

Please note that students should download the MyMedBot app to their devices in order to show the completed survey at the door. Should a student not have a personal electronic device, they can fill out a paper form at the door until they have received their iPads.

Each morning, students will be able to take their temperature, open the app, and take the self-screening survey at home before leaving for school. It will not show up prior – so do not worry if you have signed in and see you have no forms to review yet! This procedure will be in place each morning you need to travel to campus.

Each morning, on the MyMedBot app, students, faculty, and staff will be asked to take their temperature and fill out a health screening form.

Based upon your answers, you will be told you are cleared for school arrival, or that you may have to stay home and contact school.

If cleared for school entry, students and staff will arrive at school and show their app at their designated entry point.
  • What time does school begin?

Homeroom begins at 8:20 AM. Students are required to be in their homeroom by that time.

The school building, however, will be open to students starting at 7AM, Monday through Friday. Students may go to their homeroom, Alumni Hall, the Cafeteria, or the Genesis Commons before school begins.
  • What entrance do I use?

Genesis students will enter Xaverian through the Genesis entrance located in the parking lot. Ryken students will enter Xaverian through the entrance on Mackay Place off the corner of Shore Road. All high school students in the Academy and Honors programs will enter Xaverian through the front entrance on Shore Road. Faculty and staff will use the security door on 71st Street or the Faculty entrance located near the Genesis building on 71st Street.
  • How do I report an absence?

If you need to report an absence, please call the appropriate attendance office.

    High School Attendance: x135
    Ryken Attendance: x158
    Genesis Attendance: x188

  • What do I do when I am absent?

When you are absent, a parent or guardian must call in your absence to the appropriate attendance office.

Please note, absences that are not COVID-related are considered "traditional" absences. Students will not use Zoom to learn remotely.
  • Is the school allowing visitors?

Visitors of any kind are by appointment only.

Student Life

List of 9 frequently asked questions.

  • When will I receive my iPad?

6th, 9th, and transfer students will receive their iPad on their orientation day.

11th grade students will receive their new ipads in the month of September.
  • Where do I go for my Gym period?

Students will report to the classroom indicated on their schedule for their gym period. Any change in room location will be communicated to students in the event that this changes.
  • Help! My uniform hasn't arrived yet from Lands' End. What should I do?

We have been informed that some uniform items are on backorder and on a shipment delay. If you do not receive your uniform in time, please don't worry!

In the interim, High school students may wear a white or navy blue polo style shirt with khaki slacks. Likewise, Middle school students may wear a baby blue or white polo style shirt with gray slacks.
  • Will I have a locker?

All Genesis students will be assigned a locker. Students will need a combination lock for their lockers.

All high school students will be assigned a new locker this year. The new lockers will have a combination dial on them, so there is no need for a combination lock!

The new lockers are in the process of being installed. Once the installation is complete, students will receive a notification to check their Harbor account. Both the locker number assigned to the student and their combination will be accessible on their Harbor account.
  • What are the uniform requirements?

Uniform requirements can be found below this FAQ.
  • Do I need a Gym uniform?

Students will not need a gym uniform for the beginning of the 2021-2022 school year, as the gymnasium will be used as a satellite lunchroom to accommodate the social distancing requirements mandated for eating from the New York State Department of Education.

If you have purchased a gym uniform with Lands' End, and wish to return it, please contact Lands' End directly.
  • Is the fitness center open to students?

The fitness center is currently closed to students. We will notify students upon its reopening.
  • Where do I eat lunch?

High School: Grades 9-12 will eat lunch in either the cafeteria or the gymnasium.

Middle School: Students in the Genesis program will eat their lunch in their classroom. They will be allowed to go to the cafeteria to purchase their lunch, if they so choose.
  • When will I get my metrocard?

Students who are eligible for a metrocard (based upon their home address) will receive theirs in their homerooms during orientation week.

  • Do I need to wear a mask at school?

As per the New York State Education Department, in conjunction with CDC guidelines and recommendations, any person over the age of 2 (including all students, personnel, teachers, administrators, contractors, and visitors) must wear masks at all times indoors in school buildings, regardless of vaccination status, with the exception of eating and drinking.
  • I don't feel well. When should I stay home?

All members of the Xaverian community must use the screening protocol in place before departing for school each morning. Any and all health screening protocol is not intended to diagnose COVID-19. Some points to remember:

    • Do not give any fever-reducing medication to your child and send them to school. All students with a fever must remain at home.
