Summer Programming at the X!

Xaverian's Summer Camps & Programming provide boys and girls of various ages with a wonderful opportunity to develop their individual skills and talents in various forms of extracurricular activity.

The program directors and staff are Xaverian's own, highly accomplished coaches, alumni, players, performers, and staff members all of whom have experience at the High School, AAU and Collegiate levels.

  • Robotics Camp

    Two, one-week sessions.
    Aug 1-5 & Aug 8-12 
    $375 per camper

    Work in the state-of-the-art Xaverian Engineering Lab on various introductory robotics programs.
    Program Director

    James Schreiner ’04 is the longtime coach of  Xaverian’s highly successful FIRST (For Inspiration & Recognition of Science & Technology) Robotics Competition. He is also the founder and coach of the Genesis FIRST LEGO League team.  He is certified by Project Lead the Way in Automation & Robotics and Design & Modeling courses for middle school as well as Introduction to Engineering Design for high school.  He is also the developer and teacher of the XCEL (Xaverian Community of Emerging Leaders) program’s Robotics elective course. 
  • Theater Camp

    One, two-week session.
    Aug 1-12. 
    $700 per student.
    Lunch option available.

    Students will be performing a children's edition of A Jungle Book KIDS.

    Program Director
    Eddie Mayrose ’79 is Xaverian’s Associate Director of Advancement and Director of Summer Programs. A community theater veteran, he was a founding member and performer for  X-ACT (Xaverian Alumni Community Theatre).  He has worn many hats along the way, having served companies as a producer, performer, manager, and stage crew.
    Nick Rubano ’20 has been involved in all aspects of theater from a very young age. Initially, a performer for the Staten Island Children’s Theater, he would later serve that group in various production roles such as sound designer, stage manager, and assistant director. During this time he worked in the summer months with the staff and two separate groups within the program (ages 4-8 and 9-18) to produce full-length shows starring the children enrolled in their camp. He has also worked as choreographer and assistant director for the On Your Mark Players, a theatre company devoted to fostering a safe learning environment for adult individuals with special needs  He is currently pursuing a degree in Theatre Arts with a concentration in Musical Theatre at Sacred Heart University. 
  • Art Camp

    Two, one-week sessions.
    Aug 1-5 or Aug 8-12 
    $350 per camper. 
    Children entering 5th-9th grade.
    Lunch option available.

    Students will work on various introductory art projects using various mediums in the famous Xaverian Art Annex!
    Mr. John Hendrick has been teaching art at Xaverian for 10 years. In that time, he has taught Studio Art, both in the high school and middle school, as well as Digital Art, Architecture, AP Art, and Cartooning. Additionally, he is involved with multiple extracurriculars, including Stage Crew, Art Club, Yearbook, and the Voyager, Xaverian’s Art and Literature magazine. In his free time, he loves to doodle.

Each camper must submit a completed Medical Form in order to participate.
