A group of Xaverian juniors participated in the first CHiPS Soup Kitchen Service Trip of the school year at CHiPS Soup Kitchen in Park Slope. Our Clippers prepared and served meals while supporting members of our local community who are experiencing poverty, homelessness, and marginalization. Working together, students embraced the opportunity to put their faith into action and live out their mission to serve with humility. The experience offered our students a meaningful opportunity for compassion, community, and service.
Junior Alexa Petito shares the following reflection: “Spending my day at the CHiPS Soup Kitchen and volunteering my time helped me put into perspective just how important organizations like CHiPS are. They provide hundreds of meals a day and have an invaluable impact on the people in their communities. It resonated with me how so many volunteers give up their time to help the people in need in our community.”
