Reverend Robert V. Mucci '75

Very Reverend Robert V. Mucci (Father Bob) was ordained a Priest of the Diocese of Brooklyn on June 27th, 2009. He began his priestly formation in the fall of 2004 at the Cathedral Seminary Residence of the Immaculate Conception in Douglaston, New York. The next six years he was assigned to formation and studies at the Pontifical North American College in Rome where he earned his Baccalaureate in Sacred Theology (STB) June, 2008 and his Licentiate in Canon Law (JCL) June, 2011 from the Pontifical Gregorian University. He is currently Pastor of St. Mark – St. Margaret Mary Parish in Sheepshead Bay and Manhattan Beach. Father Mucci is also a Vice-Chancellor, and Diocesan Judge of First Instances on the Tribunal, for the Diocese of Brooklyn.

Prior to his priestly formation, Father Bob enjoyed a successful career as an actuary for more than twenty-five years. At the time he left to enter the seminary he was Executive Vice President and Chief Actuary for Transatlantic Reinsurance Company and was also a member of that company’s Board of Directors. He was one of the founders and a long time member of the Wall Street Catholic Young Adult Club. Father Bob graduated from St. Athanasius grammar school in June, 1971, Xaverian High School in June 1975, and Dartmouth College in June, 1979 where he earned a degree in Mathematics. He is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society, a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
