This past weekend, juniors and seniors stepped away from the hustle and bustle of life for 4 days and 3 nights to go on Kairos, a spiritual experience focused on reflection, community, and personal growth.
Throughout the retreat, student and faculty leaders guided participants through a series of talks, activities, and small group discussions. These sessions encouraged students to reflect on their relationships with family, friends, themselves, and with God.
According to Mr. Drexler, the most enjoyable part of the retreat for the retreaties was the bonding that occurred in the small groups. Additionally, the compassion shown by the leaders helps make a very comfortable atmosphere for the participants.
Additionally, the new retreat location was beautiful. It was outdoors, and there was wildlife. The upgrade of this new location created a great feel for everyone who went.
For seniors, the retreat held special significance as one of their final chances to step away together before graduation. Leaders emphasized the importance of being open to personal growth. Additionally, making the retreat extremely enjoyable for the participants. As students returned to school on Monday, many said they were leaving with renewed connections to their peers. These four days reminded everyone that sometimes stepping away is the best way to recuperate and reconnect with the people around you.
