Freshman Boys Basketball - December 9th

James Schmidt '23
The Freshman Boys Basketball team lost to Archbishop Molloy 61-48 in the first game of Friday’s tripleheader.

For the first 3 quarters, Molloy and Xaverian stayed within a few points of each other at all times. However, a string of 3-pointers from Molloy gave them the first double-digit lead of the game in the 4th quarter and propelled them to victory. The Clipper scoring attack was led by Christian Hine-Stroza, who recorded team highs in both points (22) and rebounds (8). Axel Kovach was also solid from the 3 point line, finishing with 13 points. The Freshman Clippers struggled to move the ball past Molloy’s full-court press at times during the game, which is something they’ll look to improve on before their next matchup.

The Freshman team gets an immediate chance to bounce back from this game as they play Kellenberg on the road tomorrow morning.
