Varsity Boys Basketball - January 6th

James Schmidt '23
The Varsity Boys Basketball Team beat Holy Cross 80-72 Friday night.

The Varsity Clippers took a very aggressive approach to the game, playing a fast-paced offense that focused on sprinting and advancing the ball down the court after every rebound or turnover. Moving the ball down the court quickly created many 2-on-1 or 3-on-2 opportunities that they were able to capitalize on and score. Don Colon-Lewis, Nasir Muhammad, and Aaron Goldstein all clearly benefited from this fluid style of offense, as they were the top 3 scorers for Xaverian with 26, 21, and 18 points, respectively. Although the Clipper defense wasn’t stellar overall, Michael Walker played an essential defensive role with 9 rebounds and 6 blocks on key possessions that gave Xaverian the edge.

The Varsity Clippers play their next game on Saturday against Mount Vernon at Iona University.
