Xaverian Varsity Clippers grabbed an early lead on its way to a 5-1 victory over St. John the Baptist Varsity Cougars on Saturday.

Xaverian scored on a triple by Joe Chelales and a single by Nick Baillargeon in the second inning. The Clippers pulled away for good with two runs in the second inning. In the second, Chelales tripled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run and Baillargeon singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Jude Van ooyen led the Xaverian Varsity Clippers to victory on the hill. The right-hander allowed one hit and one run over one inning. Xavier Webb went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Xaverian in hits. James Cronin led the Clippers with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with seven stolen bases.
