Mr. and Mrs. Patrick and Katheleen Coen G'14, P'14 and '16

Patrick and Kate Coen, parents to Kathleen Genesis ’14, Patrick 2014, and Francis 2016, are honored to receive the St. Francis Xavier award. Currently, Kate serves as a Panel Chairperson on the Surrogate Decision Making Committee (SDMC) for the N.Y.S. Justice Center for the Protection of People With Special Needs. This panel, appointed by the Governor, serves to make decisions regarding medical treatment on behalf of persons who cannot provide informed consent on their own behalf, and have no one to make decisions for them. Prior to her work with the SDMC, Kate formerly served as Assistant District Attorney, Office of the NY County D.A., and Assistant District Attorney, Office of the NY City Special Narcotics Prosecutor.

Patrick is Director at Ernst Young in the area of IT Forensic Analysis. Prior to EY, he spent many years in the IT Departments of several major Wall Street firms. He has a Mechanical Engineering Degree, and holds a Professional Engineering license from the State of NY.

Together they serve their community through a number of organizations, serving on the Board of Directors at the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation as well as Legal Advocate, Blue Gold Officer with the United States Naval Academy in the Candidate Admissions Office, volunteers with the U.S.O., formerly serving as the President of the Genesis Parent Association, among many others.
