Olivia Scarpaci '22 Is Accepted to MIT

Congratulations to Olivia Scarpaci ’22 on her acceptance and commitment to the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology, better known as MIT, where she will be studying engineering and playing softball in the fall.

Over the last four years, Olivia has worked hard in and out of the classroom, demonstrating her thirst for knowledge. She is everything we want a Clipper to be. Olivia has been involved and been a leader in every aspect of the Xaverian community. In the classroom, she is near the very top of her class, taking the highest-level AP math and physics classes and getting the foundation for her college major. Outside of the classroom, Olivia is a member of the music department where she belongs to a number of different performing groups as a trumpet player and is captain of both the varsity basketball and softball teams.

Her varsity basketball coach, Mark Spelman ’92, said about Olivia, “When Liv graduates, she will leave Xaverian much better than it was before her arrival.”

Her AP Calculus BC teacher, Mr. Holek, said, “Olivia is unquestionably one of the most phenomenal students I have had the honor and privilege of teaching at Xaverian. She has an incredible work ethic and remarkable analytical skills that truly cannot be taught. Beyond Olivia's notable academic achievements, she is an overwhelmingly kindhearted, respectful, and humble individual with the drive and determination to attain any far-reaching goal she sets for herself.”

Congratulations and Good Luck, Olivia!
