Xaverian High School is pleased to offer two different programs to meet the needs of students with Learning Disabilities.
Ryken Education Center
The Ryken Education Center is a program for high school students with specific learning disabilities who are currently in a 12-1-1 program and need to continue their education in a similar program to meet their learning needs. The Ryken program is a New York State approved Non-Public School (NPS). The program is a college-prep program and follows the NYS Regents Curriculum. The admission process requires an interview with the student and the student’s parents or guardians. If our program approves the student then the NYC Department of Education must place the student in our program through the Committee on Special Education (CSE) or the Central Based Support Team (CBST). Tuition will be paid through the Department of Education once official placement is finalized.
