Admission to the XCEL Program
The XCEL program accepts qualified young women and men who will have completed all of their academic requirements at the end of seventh grade. Willing to excel as a servant leader and grow as a young person of faith and integrity, participants will explore their potential and sharpen their talents within a nurturing environment of passionate Xaverian teachers and friendly Xaverian student leaders.
This summer the XCEL program has approximately 150-175 available seats. With annual applications exceeding that number, not all applicants are accepted. Therefore, please note that acceptance is based on the applicant’s record of academic consistency and effort, a willingness to learn and be challenged, and a mature demonstration of leadership among his or her peers.
As the program offers enrichment and not remediation, students who fail a course or with grades in the 70’s in the seventh grade are typically not accepted into XCEL.
To apply for XCEL, the parent/guardian and the student must:
- Complete and submit the online application by the application deadline (no extensions will be granted)
- Ask one school administrator or teacher to complete and submit the online recommendation by the application deadline (no extensions will be granted)
- Fax or mail a hard copy a completed and physician-signed medical form (Please download and print the medical form below)
- Fax or mail a hard copy of the applicant’s most recent report card, which must include at least two quarters of grades.
The online application process opens in January 2019. Check back then!
PLEASE NOTE: All of the required documentation is not required to be submitted at the same time, but ALL documentation requirements MUST be submitted by the application deadline of 9:00am on April 9, 2019. No applications will be considered after that time on April 9.
