Joseph "Joe G" Guarinello Scholarship Fund

In the spirit of Joey G's friendship, compassion, and unwavering support to Xaverian, a scholarship fund has been established in Joe's memory, to support future students attending Xaverian.
Our friend, our alum, and our Cigar Night host, Joseph Guarinello, a member of the Class of 1972, passed away on March 20, 2023. Joe was best known for his smile, his love of family, and his deep appreciation for a good cigar.

Joe was also an incredibly proud Clipper parent, as his sons, Joseph '99 and Jason '02, followed their dad's path to 7100 Shore Road, cementing their family's significant Clipper legacy.

For 21 years, "Joey G" was the voice of the evening.  “Gentlemen, Gentlemen” is how he gained the attention of the audience at Xaverian’s Robert Charles Golden Cigar Night. Whether it was a Monte Christo or a Perdomo, Joe’s descriptions and enthusiasm for the cigars, for the evening, and for his alma mater were infectious.

Along with his brother Bill '66 and the late Robert Charles Golden '64, Joe helped establish Cigar Night, which has become one of the best dates on our alumni calendar. We will always be grateful for his love of his alma mater.
