The Jazz Band, Harp Ensemble, and Pipe & Drum Corps traveled to Ireland for a whirlwind tour over February Break, performing in Portlaoise and Dundalk alongside Irish musicians and their teachers. All year the Harp Ensemble has been exploring Irish music in preparation for this collaboration. Jazz Band students joined in on Irish traditional instruments like the tin whistle and bodhrán. The Pipe & Drum corps opened and closed each performance in a ceremonial flourish. Along the way, students learned about Irish history, language, and culture while also visiting an Irish high school and attending class for part of the day.
