The 2025–2026 school year opened with high energy, tradition, and community spirit at Xaverian!
We began the week with our opening liturgies, a meaningful reminder of our shared mission and values as we welcomed students, faculty, and staff back to campus.
Our freshmen wasted no time building connections by writing letters to their future selves, which they will revisit as seniors, and exploring the campus during a spirited scavenger hunt designed to help them feel at home in their new community.
Upperclassmen and incoming students also deepened bonds through Big X, Little X, our peer mentoring program. This year’s pairings created an atmosphere of support and encouragement that will last well beyond the first week.
At Genesis, middle school students experienced Gen X, a mentoring program designed to connect them with high school peers. In small groups moderated by Genesis faculty, they broke the ice by answering fun questions like Where are you from? What’s your favorite hobby or sports team? and What’s your favorite movie or TV show? The groups then moved to the gym for lively relay games that built teamwork and camaraderie. Students also gathered in the Genesis Commons with Mr. Dormer, Mrs. Scally, and the XBSS seniors to reflect on the Gifts of the Holy Spirit and our connections to each other as one Catholic Church, highlighting the importance of compassion and community.
In addition, every student contributed to a school-wide mural project by decorating a puzzle piece to represent themselves. As these unique pieces come together, they will form a powerful mural symbolizing the unity and diversity of our community.
Students got a chance to explore their passions through Club Connections, where they met faculty advisors and peers who share their interests, setting the stage for a vibrant year of extracurricular engagement.
We capped off the week with our pep rally, where school pride was on full display. Cheers, music, and team spirit rang out as we celebrated the start of a new year together.
Opening week set a strong tone for the year ahead, and we are looking forward to yet another year rooted in faith, friendship, and community.
