The Varsity Boys Lacrosse Team traveled to Monsignor Farrell for their second league game of the season, seeking the programs first varsity victory on Farrell turf.
The teams traded blows in the first half, exchanging leads back and forth. Following some costly turnovers, Farrell pulled ahead to a 7-4 lead to open the second half on a man-up goal. Trailing by 3 goals in the 4th, the team needed a spark, and that spark came in the form of a huge hit and takeaway by Junior midfielder, Mike Loccisano, leading to a fast break and a game-tying man-down goal from Dylan Grosseto. Senior Danny McMahon would net the go-ahead goal on a man-up opportunity, with the Clippers' defense shutting Farrell down for the final 3 minutes, securing the 8-7 victory. McMahon finished the game with a hat trick, and Nico Menegatos notched 4 more goals in the victory. Hats off, Clippers.
The boys look forward to their next matchup, a doubleheader at St. Joseph by the Sea next Tuesday.
