Varsity Boys Baseball - May 11th

The Clippers stole the lead late and defeated Kellenberg Memorial Varsity Firebirds 9-7 on Thursday.  

The game was tied at seven with Xaverian batting in the top of the tenth when an error scored one run for Xaverian. In the first inning, Xaverian got their offense started. Daniel Cronin drove in one when Cronin singled.
The team knotted the game up at seven in the top of the seventh inning, when Ryan Spelman grounded out, scoring one run.

The Clippers scored three runs in the seventh inning. Their big bats were led by Cronin, Pat Hassel, and Spelman, all knocking in runs in the inning. Joseph Jenkusky got the start for Xaverian. The righty went two and a third innings, allowing six runs on six hits.

Xaverian tallied nine hits in the game. Spelman and Hassel each managed multiple hits and each collected two hits to lead the team. Xaverian tore up the base paths, as three players stole at least two bases. Xavier Webb led the way with three.
