Varsity Boys Basketball - January 10th

James Schmidt '23
The Boys' Varsity Basketball team won 67-53 against Cardinal Hayes on Tuesday.

The Clippers looked very sharp on both sides of the ball throughout the entire game, even when facing elite competition. Both teams had similar starts to the game, but Xaverian was able to distance itself from Cardinal Hayes by going on a run of double-digit unanswered points early in the 3rd quarter. Nasir Muhammad led the team in scoring with 27 points, and Aaron Goldstein followed up with 19. Don Colon-Lewis put up a great all-around performance, scoring 14 points and bringing down a team-high 15 rebounds, many of which came during key possessions. Michael Walker also helped Xaverian dominate the boards, ending with 10 rebounds and several blocks that helped the team secure the lead in the 4th quarter.

The Varsity Clippers will look to build on this impressive showing on Friday when they play St. Francis Prep.
