Varsity Boys Tennis - May 9th

James Schmidt '23
The Boys' Varsity Tennis Team picked up a 4-1 victory over Salesian on Monday.

The Varsity Clippers opened the week facing rival Salesian for the 2nd time this season, this time at home. The scorching heat created tiring conditions on the court and required everyone to pace themselves and conserve energy throughout their matches, which helped secure wins.

James Schmidt came out on top of a difficult matchup in second singles that went on for nearly two hours right under the sun, winning 6-2, 6-4. Robert Krute won his third singles matchup 6-1, 6-1 in a dominant effort. Additionally, the Clippers maintained their doubles excellence so far this season, with both the first doubles team of John Paskowski and George Robokos, and the second doubles team of Giovanni DeSantis and Vincent Parente obtaining easy victories in their respective matches.

Xaverian now moves to 5-0 and will look to pick up another win against Monsignor McClancy on Monday, May 15th.
