On March 21st, Xaverian hosted its annual Freshman Orientation, inviting the newest members of our Clipper family for a fun day of activities and community-building. This day wouldn’t be possible without administrators and faculty, as well as all of the current Clipper volunteers who offered their weekends to help the future freshmen feel welcomed.
The Class of 2030 truly learned what it means to serve with humility, lead with compassion, learn with zeal, live with simplicity, and pray with trust. They engaged in activities such as building miniature “clipper ships”, speaking with upperclassmen about their experiences, and a new favorite: rock, paper, scissors, but the winner collects Mardi gras beads!
Most notably, Samantha Nagel ’27 addressed our future Clippers, offering wise advice and encouraging them to get involved. Other current students lined the front steps, gave out Xaverian merch, represented their sports teams and clubs, and led bonding exercises showing exactly why our Xaverian family is one of the best communities to be a part of.
“It was fun to see who I'll potentially be walking the halls with next year,” Shara Lee ’28 said, “Orientation served as a way for current Clippers like myself to treat incoming freshmen how we were treated at our own freshman orientation, continuing the tradition of kindness and sense of community at Xaverian.”
Overall, Freshman Orientation was very successful and accomplished the goal of making our new freshmen feel as welcomed as possible. We can’t wait to see what the next 4 years have in store for them!
