2022 Season Outlook

The JV Boys Lacrosse team is looking to pick up where they left off, coming off of a Class A Intersectional Championship in the 2021 season.

The Clippers are fortunate to have several players returning their sophomore year, including goaltender, Sebastian "Seabass" Manfredonia-Pantaleo, who will be anchoring the defense along with Matthew Ferris and LSM, Jack Barnett. Sophomore midfielders Reed Clark and Tyler Selwood look to lead the X-Men offense with help from Joe Agostino, Sean Leale, and a large new crop of Clipper freshmen. In a league that has become increasingly competitive in recent years, the X-Men hope to find themselves competing for a championship once again.

The journey begins with their first matchup of the season on the road vs. St. Joseph's by the Sea on Tuesday, March 29th.

A faculty member in Xaverian’s Science and STEM Departments, Daniel Majikas has coached at Xaverian for 7 years, serving as the head coach of the Boys Varsity Swim Team, JV Boys Lacrosse, as an assistant coach for the JV football team, and two seasons as the assistant coach of Varsity B Basketball. His swimming experience comes from 15 years of working as a lifeguard for the Town of Hempstead pools, and currently as the Assistant Chief Lifeguard for the Village of Atlantic Beach Ocean Rescue. His experience playing lacrosse comes from his time at Calhoun High School in Merrick, NY where he played offensive midfield for 3 years. Daniel attended the University of North Carolina Wilmington, earning a B.A. in Biology. Daniel then attended graduate school at Brooklyn College earning a MA in Adolescent Science Education.

Christopher DeMartino ’06 was a multi-sport student-athlete throughout his high school stint, playing lacrosse, football and swimming while being involved in many extra-curriculars including speech and debate, campus ministry, and chess club. He then went to college where he double majored in finance and accounting receiving his M.B.A in 2011 while continuing to play club lacrosse. After graduating magna cum laude at the Zicklin School of Business and years of experience in the financial industry, he transitioned into tech sales, becoming one of the youngest Account Executives at Dell Technologies.

His coaching career started with two travel teams for a youth program, the Brooklyn Crescents, back in 2013. After connecting with the current lacrosse coach at the time and sharing their love for the sport, he began coaching at Xaverian High School in 2014. Wearing multiple hats throughout the years, head coaching both Junior Varsity and Varsity while getting his certification as an athletic trainer and US Lacrosse certifications level 1, 2 and 3 to take his skill set to the next level, he ended up in the fortunate position of taking over the entire Boys Lacrosse program in 2018.

During his tenure, he has won 3 championships while growing the Boys Lacrosse program exponentially year over year and guiding multiple student-athletes to obtain scholarships to play lacrosse in college for Division 1, 2, and 3. His involvement with our school doesn’t stay only on the field; off the field, he’s involved with Campus Ministry, Kairos and volunteers both his and his teams’ time to give back to our community.

Christopher resides in Brooklyn with his wife Jaclyn and welcomed their first-born daughter, Liv Scarlett in 2020. He manages to juggle a family and a career while staying heavily involved with our school. He has developed a team culture that will last for generations and although we’re not sure where he finds the time to do it all, as his mentor always told him, “Passion has a funny way of trumping logic.”
